FAQ

How does teletherapy work?

Teletherapy is easy and convenient to use. Evaluations and therapy sessions look exactly the same as they would in-person, just through a different modality. Cascade Speech and Language uses a HIPPA compliant platform that is user friendly. If you are new to technology, we would be happy to help set you up for success by walking you through your first login step-by-step.

What does a speech therapy appointment look like?

Treatment is individualized by thoughtfully considering patient needs, time, and current ability. However, all therapy follows a general structure:

First, a comprehensive evaluation consisting of case history, primary concerns, and testing is completed. Second, preliminary therapy is conducted to ensure each patient attending therapy is a good candidate. Then, 30-60 minute sessions are specifically designed for each patient based on data, client desire, and goals. These sessions occur on a regular to semi-regular basis. During this time goals are probed through data collection and performance in the home, school, and community. Finally, when goals are met, patient is discharged from speech therapy services.

What if I can't afford therapy?

We do not want finances to get in the way of receiving services. We offer payment plans with no interest.

What is the difference between an evaluation and a screening?

An evaluation is a comprehensive tool consisting of standardized testing, patient interview, informal testing, and stimulability testing. A screener is used as a brief tool to identify if an evaluation is needed.

Does Cascade Speech and Language partner with any other clinics?

Cascade Speech and Language understands the importance of interdisciplinary care and values an open line of communication with all care partners. That is why we work closely with all doctors, rehabilitation facilities, and hospitals.
